Who is Dame?

Hi, I’m Meghan, the founder of Dame, a fishing apparel brand created by women, for women. My love for the outdoors runs deep—I grew up in Yosemite National Park, where the towering granite cliffs and serene rivers shaped my childhood. Weekends were often spent fishing in the breathtaking Eastern Sierra, where I learned the value of patience, persistence, and the joy of connecting with nature.

Fishing wasn’t just a hobby for me; it was a family tradition. My dad, a devoted angler, passed down not only his passion for the sport but also his trusty fishing vest. While I loved the sentiment behind it, the vest itself wasn’t designed with women in mind—it was boxy, bulky, and didn’t make me feel my best on the water. When I searched for fishing gear tailored to a woman’s body, I quickly realized how limited the options were.

That’s why I created Dame. I wanted to design fishing apparel that empowers women to feel confident and capable while doing what they love. Every piece is thoughtfully crafted to provide both functionality and style because I believe that women shouldn’t have to compromise one for the other.
